An Amazing Hunting Experience
Lake Byron has long been the hunting and fishing hub of the Huron, South Dakota area and is located near the beautiful James River. In fact, hunting in the Huron area was so good around 1880 that hunters decided to put down stakes and make their first settlement. Today, the hunting is better than ever.
Lake’s Lodge at Lake Byron operates as a licensed private hunting preserve. This arrangement with the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks allows us to offer hunters a larger limit of birds as well as expanded shooting hours and season dates from September 1st through March 31st.
Thousands of acres near Huron, SD, have been dedicated to the management of wild ring-necked pheasants. The hunting at Lake’s Lodge & Hunting Preserve at Lake Byron consists of walking CRP fields, tree belts, cornfields, and sorghum strips. Specialty trained hunting labradors are provided with the guided packages, but guest dogs are also welcome.
Our pheasant hunting packages can be custom designed for any size group - from three sportsmen up to small conferences. Each package includes guides, dogs, ground transportation, airport pickup, meals, lodging, and bird processing and packaging.
